Itinerary
Day 1: We will begin our adventure as we arrive in the cosmopolitan city of Toronto, Ontario’s capital. We will experience one of the most culturally
diverse cities in the world with endless choices of shopping, cuisine and attractions. Set on the shores of Lake Ontario, this will be our home for the next two nights. We will enjoy a welcome dinner high above the Toronto skyline! The 360 Revolving Restaurant at the CN Tower features unforgettable food combined with a magnificent revolving view. The CN Tower is the tallest free-standing structure in the world, offering a bird’s- eye-view of Toronto’s illuminated harbor and skyline more than 1,150 feet below. (D)
Day 2:
Today, we will acquaint ourselves with the treasures of Toronto! A morning city tour with a local step on guide shows us all the highlights: CN Tower, Parliament Buildings, High Park (the city’s largest),
the clamshell blocks of New City Hall, the enormous downtown banking district, the ultra-modern Sky Dome Stadium and the St. Lawrence Market. We will step back in time as we enter a world of imperial grace and splendor at Toronto's majestic landmark castle, Casa Loma. Spanish for "Castle on the Hill," Casa Loma is the former home of Canadian financier Sir Henry Pellatt. Canada's foremost castle is complete with decorated suites, secret passages, an 800-foot tunnel, towers, stables, and beautiful 5-acre estate gardens. No trip to Canada would be complete without a little hockey. Much more than your standard museum, the Hockey Hall of Fame is the ultimate tribute to the greatest game on earth with state-of-the-art technology, breathtaking interactive displays and games. Take shots at real-time goalies; stop the shots of Gretzky and Messier or even call the play-by-play of some of hockey's greatest goals. Have a photo taken with the Stanley Cup. All this and more amongst the world's finest collection of hockey artifacts and memorabilia. We will return to our hotel to freshen up before departing for an included dinner. (B, D)
Day 3:
Following breakfast, we will depart for Ottawa. Nestled at the junction of three picturesque rivers,
Ottawa is considered one of the world’s most beautiful capitals. The city also borders the province of Québec, creating a dynamic cultural milieu in which both French and English cultures are deeply rooted. The result is a truly cosmopolitan experience—a North American city with a distinctly European charm and flair. We will enjoy a city tour before checking into our hotel for the evening. Dinner is included this evening followed by a Haunted Walking Tour. This lantern-lit evening walking tour of Ottawa ghost stories and darker history features the haunting of the Bytown Museum, the Fairmont Château Laurier, Friday’s Roast Beef House and more! We will explore the hidden side of the Nation’s Capital. (B, D & E)
Day 4:
We will begin our day with a visit to the Canadian Museum of Civilization. An architectural masterpiece, Canada's largest and most visited museum offers a thousand years of Canadian history, the
world's largest indoor collection of totem poles and the magnificent First Peoples Hall. We will continue to the new Canadian War Museum. This national museum presents Canada’s military past and how it shaped the country. This afternoon will include a tour of Parliament Hill and the Peace Tower. It is here we will learn about Canadian Politics and enjoy the ringing of the bells in Peace Tower. This evening, we will have dinner at Aboriginal Experiences. A truly authentic experience that illustrates both the diversity of the Aboriginal cultures originating in Canada, and how they've progressed through the ages. We will enjoy a native dinner buffet accompanied by an impressive program of the vibrant dancers as they move to the "heartbeat of Mother Earth." An unforgettable experience, set against the sunset on the shores of the Ottawa River.(B, D & E)
Day 5:
Today, we will depart for Kingston, renowned as the fresh-water sailing capital of North America. We will enjoy a city tour of Historic Kingston.
Relax and let our guides take us through an exploration of the historic sites and modern attractions of Canada’s second oldest city. Highlights include Royal Military College, Fort Henry, Fort Frontenac, Kingston’s penitentiaries, Olympic Harbour (site of the 1976 Olympic Sailing events), Bellevue House (residence of Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada’s first Prime Minister) and Queen’s University. After checking into our hotel, we will have time to relax and spend time exploring on our own. This evening we will enjoy a 1000 Islands Dinner Cruise which tours among tranquil islands basking in the warm glow of the setting sun. Enjoy fine dining where the scenery is always changing. (B, D)
Day 6:
This morning, we depart for Niagara Falls. This relaxing journey will take us south along the shoreline of Lake Ontario and through the rich farmlands and vineyards of Ontario, where stunning vistas unfold with every bend in the road. We will arrive in Niagara Falls mid-day enjoying a quick lunch break before we
are off to see the sights! We will see the wonders of the Falls up close like never before as we experience one on the most thrilling IMAX adventures ever – “Niagara: Miracles, Myths and Magic.” Next, we are off for a thrilling boat trip to experience the force of this phenomenon on the Maid of the Mist, as it pours millions of gallons or water on the rocks 289 feet below. The Maid of the Mist gives a truly close-up view of the falls, flying spray, bubbling surf and its thunderous roar from the safety of a boat. The sheer magnitude of the falls inspires the same awe as it has for three centuries. We will check into our hotel for the next two nights to freshen up before dinner. (B, D)
Day 7:
After taking in the panorama that the Falls has to offer, we will travel 15-miles away to Niagara-on-the-Lake, the prettiest town in Canada and best
known for the 40-year-old Shaw Festival it is a charming village offering a respite from modern day. Here, we can amble through the Old Town, explore the streets and lanes and browse the shops on Queen Street. We will have lunch at Queen’s Landing Inn. Set on the banks of the Niagara River, this stately Georgian mansion features marble flooring, a sweeping spiral staircase and brilliant stained glass ceilings. This afternoon, we will stop at Inniskillin Winery for a tour and tasting! Established in 1975 by Karl J. Kaiser and Donald Ziraldo, Inniskillin was founded upon and dedicated to the principle of producing and bottling outstanding VQA wines. We will return to Niagara Falls and have the remainder of the evening free to explore on our own. (B, L)
Day 8:
This morning, we will have breakfast before we bid farewell as we depart for our return flight home, leaving with pleasant memories of our Canadian neighbors – truly a memory of a lifetime!(B)
